A regular tutor understands the content, but at The Math Solution we also understand how people learn. With The Math Solution, your student will always have a credentialed math teacher with years of experience teaching in a classroom, a teacher with knowledge of curriculum, teaching techniques, and best practices for learning.
The Algebra Specialists
At The Math Solution, we know that many students struggle with Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. In fact, Algebra 1 is the most-often repeated class in middle school and high school. Our joy and satisfaction comes from supporting students on their journey toward understanding. If you are interested in exploring topics beyond Algebra 1, contact us to discuss scheduling a private session.

My Story
Since receiving my credential from the California State University System, I have worked in both middle school, where I developed a solid understanding of teaching students foundational skills, and high school, where I taught students with a wide range of abilities. After teaching in California public schools for over 13 years, I pivoted away from the grading-focused relationship with students in a classroom to focus on the part of the process I love most: engaging students in the learning process. Through online tutoring with individuals and small groups, I am able to help students achieve greater success in a shorter amount of time than is possible in a typical full-classroom setting.

My Story
As a child, math came relatively easy to me. But it was not until after I spent many unfulfilling years as a business-owner and bookkeeper that I decided to go back to school to become a teacher. Around that time, my child was beginning Pre-Algebra and I supported him and his friends through their math classes. While in school, I trained alongside seasoned master teachers who taught me how to recognize the different ways confusion can manifest in students and how to help them toward understanding. Now, as a seasoned teacher myself, I am continuing my work in supporting students as they tackle the math class with the highest failure rate outside of college.
